I am an early childhood music specialist in Rockland County, NY. I have always been enthusiastic about music and have studied and performed with the flute for over 30 years as well as studied piano. I attended Manhattan School of Music (Prep division) and I am a graduate of SUNY Binghamton, entering with a flute performance scholarship and graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. I continued my flute interests throughout college by participating in several flute ensembles, college orchestra and band. After college, while gaining 10 years of corporate Human Resources experience, I continued my study in music by completing courses in Music History at Hunter College and maintaining weekly flute lessons. I won a Superior Performance award from the Rockland County Music Teacher's Guild - Young People's Music Auditions and performed Bach sonatas with a piano accompaniment at the New City Library. I have performed in several area orchestras including County College of Morris in Randolph, NJ. I am a member of "Flute Chats", (flute ensemble in Chestnut Ridge, NY), have recently performed at several services at St. John the Divine (Tomkins Cove, NY) and volunteer my time (as duets) to perform at area nursing homes. |
