Luke Fitzpatrick is an Artist Diploma candidate at the Colburn School Conservatory of Music in Los Angeles, California where he studies with Jim Walker. While living in Los Angeles Luke has collaborated with artists such as Quatuor Ebene. Luke also has BM and MM degrees from the Eastman School of Music and Carnegie Mellon University, respectively. Luke has attended summer festivals including the National Repertory Orchestra, Music Academy of the West, Aspen music festival, the National Symphonys Summer Music Institute, and the Chautauqua music festival.
Luke has participated in numerous competitions, placing 1st in the Rochester Flute Associations Emerging Artist competition, and being a winner in the Pittsburgh Concert Society Young Artist Competition. He has also been a finalist in the Byron Hester and NSO Young Soloists competitions, and a prizewinner in the Chicago Flute Club Competition.
Luke also enjoys teaching flute and has participated in numerous teaching programs, including Eastmans Music for All outreach initiative and the Music Academys MERIT (Music Education Reinforces Intellect and Talent) program as a mentor to young musicians. |
