I am in my twenties and currently live in Berkhamsted. Having studied Music to degree level, I recently completed my MA in Music Education.
I currently work as a Teacher of Music at a secondary school in Hemel Hempstead, teaching students at KS3 (11-14), GCSE and AS and A2 level.
I have been playing the flute since the age of 7 and since graduating, I have taught both flute and music theory and I also try to perform as much as possible. As I teach pupils of a broad age range and ability, I will always adapt my teaching styles and techniques to suit the individual needs of the student. Whether this is playing for fun, or working through grades, music should be an enjoyable experience and my approach to teaching reflects this. I encourage pupils to play pieces from different styles of music, ranging from pop to classical so that their appreciation of music can grow and grow. Music theory and exam revision can be quite tough so I devise interesting ways to make this a little more light hearted. Practice makes perfect so pupils need to make sure that time is dedicated to working at home as well as in lessons.
I am willing to travel to pupils or teach from my own flat and will be as accommodating as possible to make lessons work for you. |
