Kate Steinbeck is recognized around the globe as a unique interpreter of wide-ranging repertoire, an innovative music producer, and an enthusiastic teacher and coach. She directs Pan Harmonia, a repertory company she founded in 2000 and has produced two critically acclaimed CDs, Light in the Corner (2004) with percussionist Byron Hedgepeth and Luminescence (2010) with guitarist Amy Brucksch.
Kate earned a BM from Baldwin-Wallace College studying with William Hebert (Cleveland Orchestra) and a Master’s Degree at the San Francisco Conservatory as a student of Tim Day (San Francisco Symphony). A former Fulbright scholar to Belgium, Ms. Steinbeck won a First Prize in chamber music from the Belgian Royal Conservatory in Liège and thereafter spent several years performing and teaching in Germany. Prior to moving to Asheville, she spent a decade free-lancing in San Francisco and was featured on many of the Bay Area’s most prestigious concert series.
