Jessamy is an accomplished flute and piccolo player who is available for hire for studio work, weddings and other functions. She has returned to Nottingham and loves to help developing flute players. With experiences teaching privately, for music hubs and schools, she believes all ages and abilities should have challenging and fun lessons.
Jessamy has recieved her MMus and BMus (Classical Performance) degrees at Trinity Laban Conservatoire (Trinity College of Music) in Greenwich, London. Here she has studied with Wissam Boustany, Anna Noakes, Fiona Kelly and many leading flautists. While in London Jessamy has played with orchestras such as the Collaborative, Camden Symphony and Amati, in addition to many ensembles and orchestras at Trinity Laban.
When studying in Nottingham, Jessamy was a member of the Nottingham Youth Orchestra, the Nottinghamshire County Advanced Music Ensemble, the Nottingham Music School Orchestra and Stage Band, and Trinity Sixth Form Chamber Orchestra.
She is an excellent sight reader who prides herself on her adaptability and the speed in which she picks up new pieces. Jessamy chooses to have no limits or boundaries to the type of music she plays and has a great deal of experience in playing anything from Classical and Jazz to improv and contemporary music.
Recent experience includes spending time with five other musicians in a recording studio composing a contemporary piece from scratch to finished produced article in five days. Jessamy has recently taken part in workshops with the Birmingham City Symphony Orchestra, the Hall Orchestra and the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as playing at weddings, busking, and spending time passing on tips and advice to up and coming young flautists. Through her degree course she has benefitted from masterclasses with Adam Walker, Mary Karen Clary, Susan Milan and many more inspirational musicians.
Her playing has taken her to venues as diverse as the Imperial Cathedral Basilica in Speyer, in Germany; Das Fest near Karlsruhe, also in Germany; and last July she played at the Schonbrun Palace in Vienna with the Nottingham Youth Orchestra. She has made frequent appearances at the Royal Concert Hall and the Albert Hall in Nottingham, as a member of the NYO and the Advanced Music Ensemble. |
