I have been playing the flute since I was nine and quickly became involved with the county youth wind and symphony orchestras. This took me on journeys throughout Europe taking part in music festivals and competitions. I then joined the Junior Guildhall School of Music and Drama and had the great opportunity to play at the youth proms at the Albert Hall, an amazing experience at the age of 16. Throughout my studies at Music College I gained invaluable experience of Ensemble and Orchestral playing. I have played principal flute for the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in many of their concerts and a particular favourite was Prélude à l'après-midi d'un faune at St Davids Hall in Cardiff. Solo performances included Concerto for Flute and Wind Orchestra by Daniel Bimbi, entitled ‘The Witch of the Cathedral’ at the Bute Theatre, Cardiff. I graduated in 2005 with First Class honors and was winner of the Daniel Emlyn Davies Prize for outstanding performance which was a great way to finish my undergraduate degree.

I then continued my studies at the Royal Academy of Music with Karen Jones and completed my postgraduate studies, my time at the Academy was an invaluable experience taking part in masterclasses with William Bennett and Emmanuel Pahud and travelling to Germany with the Academy Sinfonia.

My recent experience has been playing Principal flute for the Heidelberg Symphony Orchestra in Melbourne whilst living and teaching in Australia. Prior to this I played Flute and Piccolo for Apollo Chamber Orchestra, Cityside Sinfonia, Royal Academy Sinfonia, Sinfonia Cymru, Lampeter Chamber Orchestra among other orchestras across London and Wales. I love chamber music and was involved with the Manson Ensemble and various Flute and Piano recitals at the British Luxury Club, London.
