Andy Findon is Europes most recorded flute player. In his thirty five years as a London-based musician, he has appeared on countless albums, film and TV scores. He is widely regarded as the definitive flute player in the fiercely competitive world of Londons West End theatres, where he has been regularly employed throughout his illustrious career, working closely on original scores for Andrew Lloyd Webbers productions among many others. He has been involved in just about every genre of performance from serious orchestral work and session recording to rock-bands and performance on a vast array of ethnic instruments. As well as his enviable reputation as a master performer on the flute, Andy has been Michael Nymans baritone saxophonist since 1980. His personal recording projects include 2 multi-tracked CDs and several solo pan-pipe albums as well as writing for many library track. In 2008 arranged and recorded a new work for unaccompanied flute from Michael Nymans Yamamoto Perpetuo. As a "Nimbus Alliance" recording artist, his third album is to be released in April, "The Dancing Flute", 13 new compositions for flute and piano by the composer Geoff Eales. He is also a member of the "Home Service" winners of the BBC2 Folk Awards 2012. Andy is a "Pearl Flutes International Artist" and is the proud owner of Geoffrey Gilbert's platinum flute. |
